Johnny Hallyday. "The biggest rock star you've never heard of" as he is known, or rather not known throughout the English speaking world. In France and Belgium he’s sold over a squillion records.
One day, in the late 1950’s Johnny saw an ad in a newsagent’s window in Paris which said:
“Young man wanted to be a pop star, must be able to sing in the style of Elvis Presley.”
He got the job, they took the ad out of the window and they never put it back.
When Elvis went out of style, Johnny became a Beatle, then a hippy, then a punk. He even had a bash at Frank Sinatra style.

He was last seen 150 years old with his Bon Jovi style band knocking out “En ivant sur une priere.”

He played with Jimi Hendrix. Has hired Jimmy Page and the Small Faces to record with him, he has even sung a song by Bono, but the US and Britain would rather import smallpox than poor old Johnny.
When he dies they’ll put the ad back in the window.
