A WOLF IN SHEEP’S CLOTHING – TAX EXTENSIONS FOR THE RICH

THIS IS NOT THE CHANGE AMERICA WANTED

I have refrained from making any comments on this extension of the tax cuts for the rich; but now I am going to put my two cents worth in there.

President Obama is attempting to tell America what a good deal he got with this farce of the Bush tax cuts extension; he is pointing that the Republicans were holding the American people and the unemployed hostage in order to obtain this concession from the administration. He is so very proud of the meager accomplishments and thinks that he couldn’t have gotten any better.

Given that President Obama is an extremely intelligent man, a pragmatist and a hell of a nice guy; he is not the CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN, the person we thought we voted for is totally different than what we had perceived. Call it buyer’s remorse or a feeling that we, liberal progressives have been defrauded.

I can’t think for a moment that the President as apt as he is could possibly have such lousy negotiating skills. We have seen it time and time again how he has conceded some of the most important points in several of the crucial legislations even before he got to the negotiating table. And all for what? Did he get anything in return from Republicans?

Just to make the point…the American public was overwhelmingly in favor of a public option; yet, it was not even in President Obama’s radar screen from the start. There are others but let’s get to this capitulation with the tax cuts and it is simply procrastination because we are going to face this same discussion in a couple of years. And I would like to know why? The President got some very meager concessions from the Republicans. We wanted him to fight and that was a fight we would all have been supportive, even if the greedy, uncompassionate and unpatriotic Republicans had held us hostage…and I am speaking for myself here…without unemployment benefits…we have nothing else to lose Mr. President, we have no more money to give away to the rich Mr. President and we certainly can’t work any harder to put food on our tables.

May I suggest that President Obama wasn’t really giving away the Public Option or Tax Cuts for the rich after all, but he was actually projecting his own beliefs…those similar to Republicans and conservatives; why don’t we come to terms with reality and accept that our President is neither a liberal nor a progressive.

Let this be a teaching moment for all Americans; President Obama is not a SOCIALIST…he is not even a liberal progressive but a conservative of the worst kind: one who is a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
