PROGRESSIVE VS CONSERVATIVE

ON THE MEANING OF PROGRESSIVE AND CONSERVATIVE

Please allow me to offer one small observation. It has to do with the meaning of words and what if any ideology stands behind it. I know that Tea-Bagger Republicans don’t read my blog and if they did they would not even grasp the concept…the concept of the meaning of words because words don’t mean anything important to them…they limit themselves to repeating like parrots slogans and talking points without even analyzing what it is they are supposed to be supporting.

All you have to do is simple; the word progress conjures up in your mind pleasant thoughts, as if to progress is to evolve, to leap forward, to improve or perfect things.

When one wants to preserve, to keep things the way they are, to avoid change and negate progress then one is bound to conserve. Conservative therefore has a connotation of lack of progress, inability to change and to improve things.

Just think about which you would rather have: PROGRESS or CONSERVATISM because when you look around you see so many things that are wrong, so many others that need to improve and then you also have an obligation to mankind, to humanity as a whole to leave this world a little better place than you found it.
