Narcissus was a hunter from the territory of Thespiae in southern Greece who was famed for his outstanding good looks.
He was desired by all of the girls.
Ordinary girls....
women of high status....
even some of the boys!
They all wanted Narcissus.
He was exceptionally self obsessed and he had contempt for all those who loved him.
So the Gods of Olympus punished Narcissus by making him go to a place where he could see himself.
On seeing his own reflection he fell in love with his own image.
He was never able to leave that place because he couldn’t tear himself away from the beauty of his own reflection and he wasted away and died.
