STAIRWAYS TO HEAVEN

So this is Led Zeppelin's image. Theirs has a depressed angel on his way up....or down.

"The Haunted House" a 1921 movie starring Buster Keaton. This stairway is an escalator, female angels and the man appears to be wearing a skirt.

This one has a flying pig monster on the left, some floating sheets on the right, a couple of imp type creatures sitting on the steps, but it does have a safety rail.

William Blake's vision. Women and children only. More coming down than going up. Obviously no plumbing in heaven.

This is a real girly one. Fairy style angels, with flowers all the way up and it's by the seaside.

The B&Q / Homebase stairway. (That's Home Depot if you are American)

The bricked driveway model. Done on the quick, no safety rail. We tried to contact the builders, but they had dissappeared.

A real rubbish one this. The concrete is all crumbling away and the steps are way too big.

This one has got it all going on. Psychedelic Gothic. Blow it up, make it bigger, see how much you can see. There's all kinds of stuff in there.

Stylish, with an escalator and with statues to look at on the way up. From the 1946 film "A Matter of Life and Death" starring David Niven, which was released in America as......."Stairway to Heaven".
