Pakistan Cricket’s Match-Fixing Scandal Is A Good Story With Few Facts

It is not “the best amazing antic aspersion ever”. For starters, it is unproven. We are offered no chat from the cricketers. And Mr Majeed has yet to respond.

It’s not alike the best amazing antic aspersion in cricket. There was Basil D Oliveira, the South African-born England “Cape Coloured” who emigrated to comedy for England and, while adequate a affluent attitude of form, was larboard out of his adopted nation’s 1968 bout of his homeland. And again there was Hansie Cronje, the South African captain who accommodated his column for allowance bookmakers “forecast” results.

Back to the NoTW, which quotes Mr Majeed as saying

“I manage ten of the players. I do all their affairs like contracts, sponsorship, marketing, everything. I work very closely with the PCB (Pakistan Cricket Board).”

He sounds like a big cheese. Says the paper:

We can sensationally reveal Majeed identified young Pakistan captain Salman Butt as the ringleader of the band of cheats.

Mr Butt has not been afforded a chance to respond. But Mr Majeed, it seems, has more to say. He is billed as “Mr Big”, who…

“…boasted about the players he claimed were working for him in the betting scam – claiming to have seven on his books, including Butt, Asif, Amir and Kamran Akmal, the wicket-keeper already accused of match-fixing by the coach of the Pakistan team, Intikhab Alam…

“I’ve opened them all Swiss bank accounts as well, all numbered accounts,” he said. “I’ve got them even English bank accounts too.”

To prove it he showed off bank details stored on his BlackBerry including a Clydesdale Bank account number he claimed was Butt’s.

Having heard “Mr Big” speak, we read this alleged exchange:

REPORTER: “If there’s two or three that are on for the other side, the betting side, then good luck – they’ll be really happy.”

MAJEED: “There’s more than two or three. Believe me. It’s already set up. That’s already there. I’m very wary speaking about this simply because I don’t know you guys.”

He doesn’t know the undercover reporters but he is happy to talk up his alleged role and connections as £150,000 is passed his way?

So. Do the reporters with the cash want an in to his lucrative scam? Says Majeed:

“I’ve been doing it with them, the Pakistani team, for about 2½ years. And we’ve made masses and masses of money.”

As the story becomes more sensational, the details become murkier. Mr Majeed is alleged to be part of cheating gang that deals with the top tier of Pakistani cricket. But the proof is not there. It is just chat. And the accused have been given no right to reply.

As for the “rigged” England match, well that does not appear to have been fixed, unless England can be bribed to play well? If they can, we suggest they are paid backhanders as a matter of course…

These are a few examples of the many "Act of God" events that coincide with the timing of the country's pressure on Israel to give up her land for peace. The land that God gave to Israel as the descendants of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is documented by covenant in the Bible.

✡October 30, 1991: President George H.W. Bush opens the Madrid Conference with an initiative for a Middle East peace plan involving Israel's land. On the same day, an extremely rare storm forms off the coast of Nova Scotia. (It was eventually tagged "The Perfect Storm," and a book and movie were made about it.) ✡October 15-22, 1998: On October 15, 1998, Yasser Arafat and Benjamin Netanyahu meet at the Wye River Plantation in Maryland, to continue the talks, which ended on September 28. The talks are scheduled to last five days with the focus on Israel giving up 13 percent of the West Bank. The talks are extended and conclude on October 23. From October 17-22 awesome rains and tornadoes hit southern Texas. The San Antonio area is deluged with 20 inches of rain in one day. The floods ravage 25 percent of Texas and leave over one billion dollars in damage. On October 21, Clinton declares this section of Texas a major disaster area.

✡May 3, 1999: This is the same day in Israel that Yasser Arafat is scheduled to declare a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital. The declaration is postponed to December 1999 at the request of President Clinton, whose letter to Arafat encourages him for his "aspirations for his own land." He also writes that the Palestinians have a right to "determine their own future on their own land, " and that they deserve to "live free, today, tomorrow and forever." That same day, the most powerful tornado storm system ever to hit the United States sweeps across Oklahoma and Kansas. The winds are clocked at 316 mph the fastest wind speed ever recorded.

Bush and his top officials had completed the majority of their work on 9/10.  Our “War on Terror” was birthed at the very same time that Bush and his administration were completing a plan on God's covenant land."

✡August 2005: And now we have Hurricane Katrina coming right on the heels of the Gaza evacuation that was supported and even urged upon Israel by the US. While Israelis were being forced from their homes, a storm was heading for the U.S. While the homes of Israelis were being destroyed by bulldozers, hurricane Katrina was destroying the homes of Americans. Many Israelis are now living in government housing - many Americans from New Orleans were forced from their homes and are now being housed in shelters. Projected to be the most expensive natural disaster in our history, it's the latest in a string of events that most experts agree are too consistent to be mere coincidence, but disagree as to their relevance.

✡September 2005: As the Jewish temples are being destroyed in the Gaza region, their homes are being leveled to the ground, and innocent Jews remain homeless due to the lack of housing from the Gaza evacuation, Hurricane Rita makes her way to the U.S. Gulf to finish the job across Bush’s home state, and New Orleans, a sinful area of our country.

A Journey - Tony Blair

It's a political memoir with celebrity trappings - secrecy, security, a multimillion-dollar deal and, crucially, controversy.

Being a wayfarer and a journeyman, I feel somewhat qualified to comment on Tony as a fellow journeyman.

When Tony first came to power, I felt here was a man, of Jimmy Carter potential, who could change the world through his empathetic heart and shrewd understanding of parliament and politics. He almost did it, but unlike Margaret Thatcher, he backed the wrong war, and the wrong President of the USA. Did the average Britain give a toss about Iraq ?  Not really, but the Falklands pulled some patriotic strings.

I loved his accurate comment about his rival and successor Gordon Brown who he found difficult and maddening. I would add that Brown 'is like Friday's fresh and hot pie, served up cold and stale on Monday.'

Tony Blair's "A Journey" was stirring political passions even before it hits bookstores Wednesday (local time), with excerpts revealing that the former British prime minister has cried for soldiers and civilians killed in Iraq, but still thinks it was right to invade and topple Saddam Hussein.

The decision to go to war remains Blair's most divisive legacy. In excerpts from the book released by the publisher late Tuesday, Blair says "I ... regret with every fibre of my being the loss of those who died."

"Tears, though there have been many, do not encompass it," he says.

But, he says, "on the basis of what we do know now, I still believe that leaving Saddam in power was a bigger risk to our security than removing him and that, terrible though the aftermath was, the reality of Saddam and his sons in charge of Iraq would at least arguably be much worse."

"I can't regret the decision to go to war," he says.

Blair also reopens domestic political wounds, saying he found his rival and successor Gordon Brown difficult and maddening.

British booksellers are reporting heavy interest in the book, for which Blair was paid an estimated 4.6 million pounds ($7.5 million). He's donating the proceeds to a charity for injured troops.

Billed by publisher Random House as a "frank, open" account of life at the top, "A Journey" is being published in a dozen countries, alongside an e-book and an audio version read by Blair himself. It's in the top 10 on Amazon's British best-seller list - though it's only 4,000 on the retailer's US site.

"Initial sales will be huge," said Jonathan Ruppin of Foyles book store chain. "But whether those sales are sustained will depend on how frank and open it is."

Blair - who is scheduled to be in Washington on publication day, attending Israeli-Palestinian peace talks in his role as an international Mideast envoy - has said he "set out to write a book which describes the human as much as the political dimensions of life as prime minister."

"A Journey" promises to give readers behind-the-curtain insights into major world events from the death of Princess Diana to the Sept. 11 attacks and the invasion of Iraq.

It is unlikely to resolve the conflicting views and emotions Blair evokes.

For many Americans, he remains a well-regarded ally who stood shoulder-to-shoulder with the US in the fight against international terrorism. He's scheduled to receive the 2010 Liberty Medal from former President Bill Clinton in Philadelphia on Sept. 13.

But the question I ask, did he do more than Clinton when in office ?

CHOP DOWN THE CHERRY TREES AND PUT ALL JAPANESE LIVING IN AMERICA IN CONCENTRATION CAMPS.

The dastardly attack on Pearl Harbor demonstrates that the Japanese are not our friends. We went to war over that attack, won the war against them; but did we? We pumped billions of dollars to rebuild their country and they rewarded us with transistor radios and cheap televisions…then they continued their quest to ruin America by cajoling their way into our automobile market until it was all but decimated.

The National Cherry Blossom Festival is a spring celebration in Washington, D.C. commemorating the March 27, 1912, gift of Japanese cherry trees from Mayor Yukio Ozaki of Tokyo to the city of Washington. Mayor Ozaki donated the trees in an effort to enhance the growing friendship between the United States and Japan and also celebrate the continued close relationship between the two nations.

But it is kind of like the horse of Troy…it carries with it hypocrisy, a false intention and the trees are deceivingly pretty. Just like the religion of Islam presently, they are trying to project an image of a peace loving religion and are intent on building a “Learning Center” scarcely a couple of blocks away from the site of one of America’s largest tragedies: the attack on the World Trade Center on 9/11/01.

If I follow the way of thinking that these people on the extreme right have, then the cherry trees should be chopped down and the Japanese put into concentration camps…well, they were? Oh, then let us put those Muslims in concentration camps…tear down all their Mosques and burn their Koran in massive country wide demonstrations of repudiation for their religion…this is a Christian nation…there is no room for a religion that kills Christians.

What we need is a couple of hundred internment camps across America and put all Muslims there where they can’t hurt us or plan any further attacks on our nation. No Mosque should be built two blocks away from that sacred ground…or two miles away….or two states away…or two continents away for that matter.

Or we could really be creative; we could make a national law specifying what kinds of jobs Latinos and Blacks could do…they should only be doing: yard work, garbage pick-up, harvesting fruit and cotton, waiting on tables, cleaning offices and homes. Colleges have to stop letting in Latinos and Blacks, just the way it was back in the 1950’s; particularly Law Schools so we don’t get any more “uppity” Negroes.

But first we must deport 12 million illegal aliens because they are criminals, they have broken the law and have to pay the price…automatic citizenship to children born of illegal aliens should be outlawed.

They say: over 100 Muslims were also killed on 9/11…That doesn’t matter, they would kill their own mother for their religion…and so on…and so on…I think you get the idea of how the mind of the ultra-right wing-nut works.
